The 3-Minute Urge Reset
Three minutes to do in the moment the pull starts. Not willpower, not shame, and not a promise you have to keep alone. Just a way through the next ten minutes with Christ and a brother beside you.
- Written to be read once, then used in the moment. Three minutes, three steps.
- It works whether the urge is loud or quiet, whether you are new to this or have been fighting it for years.
How the three minutes work
Use this the moment you notice the pull, not after you have decided. Three minutes is not a cure. It is enough to interrupt the ritual, turn your face toward Christ, and get another man into the room with you.
Minute one
Name it, out loud if you can
Say it plainly: "This is an urge. It is not a command."
- Breathe in for four, out for six. Three times, slowly.
- Do not argue with yourself. Naming it honestly is enough for now.
Minute two
Move your body out of the room
Stand up and change the scene before you decide anything.
- Walk to another room, step outside, drink a glass of water.
- Go where a window is, or where another person is. The pull thins out in the open.
Minute three
Turn toward Christ, then toward a brother
Pray one honest sentence, then send one message.
- "Father, I am weak right now and I am Yours. Carry me through the next ten minutes."
- Text one man: "Rough moment. Would you pray for me?" That sentence breaks the secrecy.
After the three minutes
You have not fixed anything, and you do not have to. You have stayed honest and stayed in the light.
If the pull comes back in twenty minutes, do the three minutes again. This is a practice, not a test.
The men who walk free are not the ones with the most willpower. They are the ones who built a life where the ritual has less room.
"God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out."
1 Corinthians 10:13

When three minutes is not enough
Three minutes interrupts an urge. It will not, on its own, change the pattern underneath it — the tiredness, the isolation, the story you tell yourself at night. That is what the 30-Day Reset is for: thirty days, one honest step at a time, with Scripture, a daily practice, and someone else who knows how you are going.
